During the past few years, this Monterey winery has produced wines that are very consistent in quality, reasonably priced, and distinctive in character. Today, it produces around 45,000 cases of wine from 5 primary varietals, many bearing the Santa Lucia Highlands AVA.

What do we expect this year on-premise with respect to wine? Another good year, with specific types of wines benefiting from trends-in-progress.
The “best of the best” — 149 top wines are recommended, out of more than 600 tasted. These include, from California, 2005 Chardonnays, 2004 Cabernets and blends, 2005 Pinot Noirs, 2004 Syrahs, and 2004 and 2005 Zinfandels. Also, great new releases from Argentina, Australia, Chile, France, Italy, and New Zealand.
